    Intake

    Assets are collected on site into tamper-evident locked security containers and loaded by our own logistics officers. A countersigned Bill of Lading and manifest is issued at the dock, and environmental liability transfers on that signature. Loads arrive at the Jonesboro facility for pallet-scale receiving, weighing, and locked staging.

    Assets are tagged with unique barcode identifiers and scanned against the client manifest using ruggedized mobile scanners.     Inspection

    Every storage unit is triaged by media type, magnetic rotational HDD versus solid-state NVMe or SATA, and by functional health. Technicians working on grounded ESD mats open server chassis, run component diagnostics, and grade recoverable enterprise parts. Non-functional storage is routed to physical destruction instead of a logical wipe.

    Secure Sanitization

    Oblitero is our in-house bare-metal sanitization engine. It interfaces directly with SAS, SATA, NVMe, and Fibre Channel controller microcode to run cryptographic firmware erase, ATA Secure Erase, NVMe Format with Crypto Scramble, or multi-pass pseudo-random overwrite to the NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 Clear and Purge outcomes. Because the engine is ours, no per-drive third-party wiping licence is charged through to the client. Defective drives and drives under a physical-destruction mandate go to hydraulic mechanical shearing instead.

    Verification

    Oblitero verifies sector overwrite across the logical block address range and writes wipe telemetry, including a SHA-256 record, against the drive serial number. Results are checked before a drive is released for remarketing or refining. Physical destruction is recorded by visual confirmation at the punch station.

    Chain of Custody

    Dual-signoff countersigned manifests, numbered tamper-evident transport seals verified at pickup and at intake, and timestamped custody transfers are held against each serialized asset. Client compliance teams can see live disposition and serial-level history rather than chasing an email thread.

    Certification

    Each processed lot receives a Certificate of Data Sanitization listing every drive serial number, the sanitization method applied, timestamps, verification records, technician signoff, and the signed environmental liability transfer. Certificates can be looked up and printed from the public verification portal for an audit binder.

    Disposition

    Viable enterprise components such as ECC memory, processors, and modular power supplies are harvested for reuse. Functional chassis are graded for secondary remarketing. Bare circuit boards and separated metals are routed to downstream refining partners, and the final disposition of each serialized asset is written back to its custody record.

The sanitization engine is ours, so the wiping licence is not your cost

Oblitero is the in-house bare-metal sanitization engine NEA IT Services runs on its Jonesboro wiping benches. It talks directly to SAS, SATA, NVMe, and Fibre Channel controller firmware to execute cryptographic erase, ATA Secure Erase, NVMe Format with Crypto Scramble, or multi-pass pseudo-random overwrite to the NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 Clear and Purge outcomes.

Every pass reads back the logical block address range it wrote, records a SHA-256 verification sample against the drive serial, and writes the result to the custody ledger before the drive can leave the bench. Drives that fail, and drives under a physical destruction mandate, go to the hydraulic punch instead.

  1. 01 Inspection Queued

    Chassis opened on the bench, media identified, and the drive serial recorded against the manifest before any command is issued.

  2. 02 Sanitization pass Queued

    Oblitero issues the firmware-level erase the media supports, or a pseudo-random overwrite where it does not, to the NIST SP 800-88 Clear or Purge outcome.

  3. 03 Read-back verification Queued

    The written LBA range is read back and a SHA-256 verification sample is recorded against the serial.

  4. 04 Ledger record Queued

    The result is written to the custody ledger. Only then can the drive leave the bench, to reuse or to the punch.

How can on-site pickup and certified wiping be free?

There is no per-drive third-party wiping licence in our cost base, because the sanitization engine is ours, and component harvesting and remarketing cover the logistics. Qualifying corporate lots of 10 or more assets carry no invoice.

What documentation is provided for HIPAA and GLBA audits?

A serialized Certificate of Data Sanitization listing every drive serial number, the method applied (Clear or Purge), the timestamp, technician verification, and the signed liability transfer. The id can be checked on the verification page.

Can our internal IT team remove or destroy drives prior to pickup?

Yes. Many healthcare systems and banks pull or degauss drives first. We collect diskless chassis, towers, laptops, and networking arrays at no cost.

What items are strictly prohibited from collection?

Household appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and microwaves, cathode-ray tube glass televisions, biohazard equipment, and chemical waste.

What happens on pickup day?

A Certificate of Insurance arrives before the vehicle does. Logistics officers load into tamper-evident serialized containers and countersign the Bill of Lading with your representative, which transfers environmental liability.

Free residential and small business scheduled pickup

Residents, students, and small offices in Craighead and Greene counties can book collection at no cost. There is no walk-in drop-off. Pickups run Monday to Friday across Jonesboro, Paragould, and both counties, and every data-bearing drive is sanitized first.
